Heather Lagos is a self-taught, emerging artist from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. While her style is always evolving, her use of texture and color creates a distinct abstract style that is a continued theme throughout her paintings. Inspiration comes in many forms, from deep emotion to simply a shape or a color. Realizing a need for an escape from her everyday life in the world of Finance, she finds solace and strength in her art. She also began the art of glass fusing in February 2009 after taking a class at a local studio. She now works from her home studio and is constantly challenged by creating fused glass pieces inspired by eye catching color combinations and is always experimenting with different techniques to create unique and interesting designs. Each piece of fused glass is individually handcrafted and although some pieces may be similar in color and size, no two pieces are exactly alike. She describes her jewelry as wearable works of art.
